The best thing to happen from this whole Balloon Boy Hoax/Pukefest was the surge of Balloon Boy songs on Youtube. This is the kind of crazyness that inspires indie music. Below you’ll find a string of young men singing ironic Balloon Boy songs. They’re full of tongue-in-cheek emotion, but also a weird sense of wonder that we were all staring at a Jiffy Pop/UFO helium balloon floating across the sky thinking there was a little boy in there. This whole situation is weird and maddening, but the idea of a boy floating across the sky in a silver balloon but really being in a box in his attic would make for a great children’s book.

My favorite is the “99 Red Balloons” parody, but I like them all.. Good job boys:
